I’m sorry but I have to ask, are you serious? You are applying to a job, not the lottery. According to your resume you have no professional experience, no hobbyist experience, no qualifications, you couldn’t follow simple instructions in the job descriptions, you have no code sample, and you want $70,000 to $120,000 in US dollars? Whatever your teacher told you was wrong, maybe when you were taking notes you accidentally wrote an extra 0. With what you’ve already shown me you’d never be hired for any price. But lets ignore for the moment your bad spelling and grammar, total lack of qualifications, and disregard for the job post. A junior programmer in the US 95% of the time STILL wouldn’t be able to find a job in the game industry at all. If they did, they can expect between $40,000 to $60,000. Since you are not in the US, but India, you’re looking at between $5000 and $10,000. Considering that this is a telecommuting position, you can knock another 20%.

Consider this one of life’s hard lessons. You can thank me later.

Leave aside the general lack of quality of the person who responded
for a moment.
You’re paying the guy to work remotely.
Why should the salary you want to pay depend on anything except the
workload and quality of work he does?
Unless the only reason you are looking at hiring him is *because* the
cost would be less, in which case, you
can’t really complain about the lack of quality of the response. You
get what you paid for.

Oh, and US$5,000-10,000 is a fairly low salary range by Indian
standards. Esp since the work is technically demanding and
(presumably) you’re looking for someone with experience.

It seems weird to me that you’re posting on an Indian job board in
order to get cheaper labor and then complaining about the lack of
quality of the labor..

That’s a fair and valid question. The reason is that as soon as I allow people from any country to apply to the job, the canidate pool expands to include people who will work for a wider range of prices. In a free market system, consumers (which include employers) want the best goods for the lowest price. It would be foolish for me to pay $50,000 a year when I could pay $5,000 a year for a similar good. Location is irrelevant except that nobody in the US would accept $5000 a year. If they did, I’d be happy to offer it to them too.

In this particular scenario I’m looking for someone with no professional experience, hence the low wage. I’m not sure where you get that I’m complaining about the lack of quality of the labor. Nowhere did I say “He’s a bad programmer” I’m complaining about the asinine greed of an individual with no experience and a horrible presentation that demands a wage 20X higher than he is qualified for.
